1 Corinthians 7:2: Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
God knew that we did not need to be alone: Genesis 2:18: And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. Genesis 2:21: And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; Genesis 2:22: And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. Genesis 2:23: And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Genesis 2:24: Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 1 Samuel 30:4: Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
1 Samuel 30:5: And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
God gave a Man a Woman; to help him! Not to be in competition with him over anything. We both have roles. Things have changed in some aspects. There are some women making more money than men. Regardless of the income God has allowed you to receive: Deuteronomy 8:18: But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. That Man is still to be head of the house. Eve took care of “Women Lib” for us. God’s Word is right whether you or I believe it or not! Matter of fact, I am at the point in my relationship with the Lord; I ask Him more and more questions. “Can I?” Now, I believe that if anyone is trying to control you; it is not right. Women can have problem with control as well as Men! I have learned I am not a person to argue; I will pray in a quick minute. I just believe that if I have verbalized to you how I feel and you choose not to address it. I will go to God!
I asked God to show me in His word; about marriage? I can see. Ecclesiastes 8:11: Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Unless man does what it takes to change his carnality, he won’t. We must choose Jesus and His way of doing things!
I just believe that there are some issues that should be discussed before marriage. I did NOT say experienced before marriage! This scripture takes care of the fornication issue! 1 Corinthians 7:2: Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. I will share a number of things. My Husband is not on the list. I do not knowingly share my spouse nor do I share myself with anyone else the way I share myself with my spouse. There is a reason why God gave us one another! I believe that you should keep your relationship fresh. (The two you) If you know that lust has been an issue for you in the past; do what it takes to avoid that issue. We must be honest with God first. Remember; anything we will not confront, we will not deal with! Deal with this issue in the beginning; deal with as you go along! In this world we have married people wanting to be single and single people wanting to be married. How are you going to take care of someone outside of the house when you can’t take care of home? Maybe, if you actually took care of home; you would not need to look anywhere else?
I would not want to even think of my spouse with someone else; I know how we act (as married people should) when we’re together; I would not want to think that he is doing that with someone else!!!!!!! I’m just being REAL
We don’t go blind when we get married. I do have a covenant with my Husband that God witnessed! My wedding ring, my vows, should be special to me! God has handpicked that special person for me and vice-versa! God does not make mistakes. I’m not talking about name it and claim it. I am talking about asking God what He wants, and waiting to receive from God; who He has for you.
Just know that God will not give you someone else’s spouse! How you go about to receive that spouse is important. Let God do it! He can see further down the road than you or I can! He knows the end from the beginning. Isaiah 46:10: Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
I’m not God! I can understand why: Exodus 20:5: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exodus 34:14: For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
Deuteronomy 4 24: For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
I guess this is why in one definition, when I looked up fornication; it also pulled up idolatry?? I did not put them together until now! Anything you lust after; you will put it before God; it becomes your god! Duh! Barbara. I’m beginning not to have as many (duh) moments!
Remember, there is a difference between lust and Love! Be sure you can discern between the two! (Pray about it)Lust is never satisfied! Before making a choice; be sure you’re making the correct choice! Make up your mind. It is either or not both!
Taking care of home means more than paying the bills; cooking and cleaning! Think about it!
I just believe that you can get what is needed in one person; instead of two or three People! There is too much in the World going around. Penicillin only goes so far. You can get more than you bargained for! REALLY, REALLY, THINK ABOUT IT!
At one time I ask the Lord not to let me have to depend on a man to make it, he answered my prayer. I did not need to depend on a man to make it. I got into long hours of work and in that process I met people that I would not have met otherwise. I also did not depend on the Lord! When we get into pride; it opens the door to immorality!
I am thankful, that God woke me up when He did interesting thought Barbara; God put you to sleep to wake you up! I’m thinking about that!
Question; When we work; are we really depending on the Lord?
1 Thessalonians 4:3: For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
Revelation 21 8: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
